KCVYS’s main roles are in advocacy, representation and networking

We advocate on behalf of the Voluntary Youth Sector for consideration and inclusion in decision-making fora at local, county and regional levels on issues that effect young people, youth organisations and their communities.

Our representation role is supported by networking and the collective views of our members, through Council, on current issues and concerns.

We work closely with Kent Youth Service, Medway Youth Service and Connexions Kent & Medway Ltd and acknowledge their support.

Increasingly we are engaged with Children’s Trusts and Strategic Partnerships in both Kent and Medway.

Service Delivery:

KCVYS is a provider of minibus driver training and assessment. It operates the Community Transport Association’s national minibus driver scheme ‘MiDAS’.

Courses are arranged to suit local requirements regularly and when possible.

KCVYS is the countywide body with which all the voluntary youth organisations are associated. There are 50 of these independent organisations in membership including local Associations of Youth/Youth Leaders’ Councils.
