| KENT COUNCIL for VOLUNTARY YOUTH SERVICES
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES POLICY STATEMENT
The Council supports the principle of equal opportunities in its work with youth organisations and oppose all forms of unlawful or unfair discriminations on the grounds of race, class, age, religion, nationality, sex or disability.
The Council believes it is in the best interests of all those working within youth services as it ensures that human resources, talents and skills available throughout Kent are utilised effectively and potential is not wasted.
Whilst the Council recognises and respects the autonomy of its member organisations it advises them that it believes that equality of opportunity is an issue that should be addressed. It therefore proposes a commitment to, and implementation of, an Equal Opportunities Policy by its affiliated organisations.
Approved by the full Council at the Ordinary Meeting held at the Youth House on 11th December 1997.
