KCVYS will now promote itself as an Infrastructure Body
In the current climate it is difficult for KCVYS in its relationship with national and regional bodies to maintain its preferred position of being identified as an umbrella body with the majority of its members themselves infrastructure bodies.
However, the government through the ‘infrastructure review’ and ‘change up’ is inferring that the terms umbrella and infrastructure are synonymous but we have consistently made it clear, that our only agreed and recognised infrastructure function is that of providing minibus driver training and assessment.
Without any fresh mandate, from our members through Council, to deliver services that do support their membership organisations to provide front line services we continue in our primary roles of advocacy, representation and networking, that are clearly now infrastructure functions.
